Well you can always make an insurance claim against her
YDI you brought that on yourself, you could've just kept your comment to yourswlf and avoided all of that.
Well, while that was uncalled for, there's no need to be openly rude, especially to one's inlaws...
You seem to be a cyber bully. Most cyber bullies do it because they can get away with no repercussions. You got caught. Think about what you say and do in future.
Everyone here is saying something to the effect of "YDI. Keep your comments to yourself!" Yet here we all are…
Have you heard of the saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all"? Or at least, if you have something to say to someone else, do it in a polite and/or not so rude manner. Its a rule that I follow. Honestly, I wouldn't really be surprised if this puts a greater strain on your relationship with your in-laws and possibly even your wife. I don't think you deserved it but I'm not going to say that it is entirely your mother-in-law's fault when your comment is what basically triggered a reaction from her. Both of you are in the wrong and two wrongs don't make a right (cliche saying but I still felt like I had to add it here).
How are so many people here saying YDI? Chances are, based on his in-law's reaction, she isn't exactly a pleasant person. He made a smart-ass comment, but so do a lot of people. She DUMPED A BUCKET OF PAINT on his windshield, effectively costing him a ton of cash, over a comment on facebook. Are all of you people slow?
At least it wasn't a Porsche
It is hard to convey sarcasm on Facebook so not sure what you think you were doing...

Well, what the hell did you expect? A thank you card and flowers?
