How is this a fyl? Your friend is the one who embarrassed themselves(if you don't like them back). They basically got rejected in front of all their friends by another friend. Yes, it's going to be pretty awkward for the entire group when y'all plan to hang out now and in the future. I hope you told them not nicely & privately. It would be messed up if you rejected them in the group message.

It wouldn't work out if the OP didn't have the same feelings towards the girl. Friendzones are sucky, but it might be better than wrecking the whole relationship by breaking up with her soon afterwards.
