Today, I sent a group text round to my friends asking if they wanted to hang out sometime. One of my friends thought this was aimed directly at her and confessed her love for me. FML

How exactly is this a bad thing? Unless of course she was in the friend zone

That's an awkward situation OP and I hope it doesn't make your friendship with her more awkward if you don't feel the same way.

That's awkward. I hope you told her nicely that it was a group message and didn't mean it as a date.

And your against "benefits" because...? Science has shown that "sex will ruin the friendship" is a myth. Turning down sex offered to you, on the other had, will.

it really depends on the person. sure, some people do it and are still friends. but a lot of people can't do it

#33, of course she is. They are already friends, so what would be the purpose of confessing love otherwise? Her honor she offered Her offer I honored So all night long It was honor and offer.

Confessing love suggests she wants a relationship, not "benefits".

#52, you're just splitting hairs now, heh-heh-heh ;) "Friends with benefits" is a type of relationship.

Love is a little more than friendship + sex.

#60, VERY little more. If you are doing well in the friendship and sex departments, there's not a lot left to be desired.

I disagree. I can be friends with people, and find them physically attractive (so I wouldn't mind having sex with them) but the combination of both those factors very rarely leads me to falling in love with them or wanting a relationship. I think the "chemistry" thing is really important. It just can't work out without it. Then again, I've been told I'm too picky sometimes, so maybe that's just me...

Friends with benefits is definitely not the same as a romantic relationship. I have friends that I have very strong (platonic) feelings for, or that I could be sexually attracted to, but that would be a different relationship to the one I have with my partner.

Its simple math (friendship+sex) > (friendship-sex)

'Pussy is pussy'? Just because Akon says "I Wanna **** You" doesn't mean it's wise to take advice from Snoop Dogg!

Some people need to learn to check the recipient box... LOL

well, at least you two will have an interesting story to tell the kids, right?
