Today, I sold some weights that were way too heavy for me on Craigslist. I felt okay with not being able to lift them when I saw the other man, who was a pretty buff dude; that is until of course he informed me he was buying them for his wife. FML

Hey! his wife could be a bodybuilder or something. just because she's a woman doesn't mean she can't be stronger than you.

Let that be your motivation and start hitting the gym!

I feel like it was a bad decision, I bet you were judging the weight off curl exercises. You can use free weights for plenty of different exercises such as bench where even weaklings can lift up to 40 pounds. I doubt the weight was more than that.

I have a 90 year old great aunt who lifts (at least) 10 pound weights.

Her being a women doesn't mean anything. Some women are very strong physically. I can understand being a little down because someone else can lift the weights that you cannot, but why would you allow the gender of that person make you feel any worse? Male, female, whatever, we've kind of proven that it doesn't matter. Your stress over the gender factor is kind of disregarding towards her. For all you know she could have spent the last ten years lifting and practicing, and thinking that just because you're a man you should be stronger than her kind of downplays her success. Practice, experience, and effort are important factors, and if you have not put that effort in then you can't expect to be better than someone who has simply because of some birthright.

Omg, thank you for saying this. I find it bad lots of guys think, "FML, a girl did something I couldn't." or, "FML, I lost to a girl." That's not it. A person is just a person. Gender has nothing to do with it at all.

Go look at any presidential fitness challenges at any school. Proof positive that there is a physical difference between men and women. Or at least that there is a difference in society's expectations for their physical strength. Yes, some women are stronger than some men, but by and large, men are still expected to be physically stronger.

No one is disagreeing with you. But some women are still stronger than some men whether you admit it or not.

Oh well, use the money to buy some lighter weights and work your way up :)

Don't be sad OP, I've met some women who can easily lift their own body size (& more) in weights. She could be a pro weightlifter n all.. But if u still feel bad about it, then do something.. Say, How much were those weights?

I would consider holding your hair for you while you blow my dick. No promises though.

If you told him they were too heavy for you he was probably just having a laugh at you and poking fun by making that comment.

Thank you! I just saw this FML now and was about to make the same comment since nobody else seemed to notice. Glad you also saw that.
