Today, I spent 2 hours making the perfect card for my dad for Father's Day. When I handed it to him, he smiled and said "Thank you" and then killed a fly with it. I found it in the trash a couple of hours later. FML

I bet if it had a naked chick on it he wouldn't have thrown it away, mind you it'd probably be really awkward.

What u want him to do save it and waste space on a worthless card

that's, hate to break it to you, sort of what you do with cards...

I'm so sorry for your pain and heartbreak, OP. My OCD and perfectionism can make me do things like that, too. The thing you have to keep in mind is that the recipient doesn't know how much time, effort, and thought you put into the card. They have no idea how special it was to you and weren't trying to hurt you, be insensitive, or be mean. Honestly, my best advice to you is to try to stop yourself from emotionally investing so much in homemade trinkets in the future, because they will almost never be appreciated as much as you feel they deserve to be, because they ARE just trinkets, no matter how much work you put into them. (I'm assuming you're an adult or at least too old for it to be "normal" to be making homemade gifts instead of buying one.)
