Weird that grandma didn't think you'd expect the kids to eat at home, or at least check. Does she assume that you starve them or does she just not care?
Oh geez. I hope they at the very least appreciated the effort...
Wow, I'm not sure what to say. I know it would hurt my feelings too if I saw that. I'm not sure how old they are, but hopefully as they get older, they will appreciate your cooking more. I'm 15 and I have just started loving it more!
"Slaving over a hot stove" - goddamn, get off the cross, someone else needs the wood.
What the hell did you cook that took two hours over a hot stove?
hold on. My question is, what exactly did you take two hours to make for children? judging that a happy meal feeds them they must be small, so all they basically eat are like chicken nuggets, spaghetti, French fries, Macaroni and cheese, pizza and simple things like that? I don't see how a meal for small children would take two hours to prepare.
It was homemade chicken pot pie. Even though i am very busy during the day i always try and make sure my kids have a healthy homeade meal.
It's not like they knew you were cooking dinner. Maybe you should let them know next time?
You need to have a talk with their grandmother, so this doesn't happen again.

Save what they didn't eat. Have a leftover night soon and serve that. I'm sure they'd be happy to eat it; they didn't know you were making something for them, right? They didnt refuse your dinner or mean to spoil it.
At least you were thinking about them!
