Today, I spent a solid four hours and over one hundred dollars preparing a nice fancy meal for my new girlfriend. A delicious three pound rack of ribs with a sweet and sour marinade. Steam broccoli with melted cheese. Home made buttermilk biscuits. I serve the meal. She doesn't eat beef. FML

That sucks, but before you go all-out on a meal like that you should at least know what she likes and doesn't like.

#151: There's no point in dumping someone just because of their diet. If someone cooked a meal like that for me, I'd be pretty damn impressed, even though I couldn't eat it. Also, someone who doesn't eat beef would not necessarily be a Vegan, they could just be a vegetarian, and Hindus don't eat beef because they regard the cow as sacred. No, not all Vegans are stupid, only the loud ones. You probably should have known what your girlfriend doesn't eat, but it seems like you were trying to surprise her; I would say that it's not really the fault of either one of you. She couldn't really be mad at you unless she had already told you, so just eat it yourself.

well its kind of rude to say that he doesnt know too much about her. I mean, if she never brought up the fact that she didn't eat beef, it's not like he's gonna go and ask if shes a vegatarian out of no where. hopfully she was grateful anyways.

God created animals so that people would eat them...

how are ribs and cheesy broccoli and biscuits fancy?

The fact that you tried to do something like that probably earned you some points. Cooking her a lavish meal, I mean.

So what if ribs are usually pork? I've had beef ribs. And short ribs are beef, and expensive as sin. So uh. Yeah.

I've found that it's best to just assume they're a vegetarian until they say otherwise. Best thing you can do is take them to a restaurant and let them order. If they're a vegetarian, it'll probably come up in conversation.

That was really sweet of you. ^^;; One of my friends suddenly switched over to being a vegetarian and I didn't realize it when I invited her over for dinner - so I sorta understand. And hey, if it works out with you two, you'll laugh about this a lot in the future. :)
