Today, I spent a solid four hours and over one hundred dollars preparing a nice fancy meal for my new girlfriend. A delicious three pound rack of ribs with a sweet and sour marinade. Steam broccoli with melted cheese. Home made buttermilk biscuits. I serve the meal. She doesn't eat beef. FML

That sucks, but before you go all-out on a meal like that you should at least know what she likes and doesn't like.

first of all, it's marinade. the word marinate is the act of marinading. and it's steamed broccoli not steam. and yeah, you should have known that she didn't eat beef.

Ummmm that all sound a hell of a lot like "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days"! Maybe she's telling you something!

ribs can be beef; they're not always pork. I think it's ridiculous for anyone to say he should dump her just because she doesn't eat beef! WTF! And OP...if you were cooking for her as a surprise, you should have casually asked her if there are any foods she doesn't eat(allergies/taste, etc) prior to making the meal. If it wasn't a surprise, then she's got some explaining to do. I don't eat pork and I let people know. And as for anyone who's saying she should have still eaten it...some Hindus don't eat pork for religious reasons. Eating it any way to please some guy is kind of a tall order to ask of her.

You should have known that, dumbass. That's pretty important.

way to know your audience there chief.

Does the movie "How to lose a guy in 10 days" ring a bell!?

Your girlfriend sucks. Dump her. She should have eaten it anyway. Send it to me, on ice! :-)

This is why you always find out what a girl does and doesn't eat before you cook for her. Nice gesture, but think ahead next time.

Nice try though...I am vegetarian but I would still eat the rest of the stuff you cooked. As long as she was nice about it and didn't tell you in a bitchy way then keep her. Otherwise ditch her because if she cared about how you felt she would've made sure you didn't feel totally bad about it since you put so much time and money into it. Thats super sweet though!!! I wish my boyfriend would do that (minus the meat for me lol).
