Today, I spent eight hours cutting, curing, and aligning on the racks, six months worth of beef to be dried for some tasty jerky, only to find out my dehydrator is broken beyond repair, and would cost as much to fix as the soon-to-spoil meat that I bought. FML

If it were me, I would try to get the dehydrator fixed before the meat spoils, even though it is expensive, because you will probably need it in the future

That's a major bummer, but with all of that careful preparation why didn't you check over your equipment ahead of time? FYL

You can dry meat in your oven. Takes forever, but you can do it.

Cut the meat Into strips and cook it on ultra low however you can. It'll go slow but if you have a friend who'll help you you can preserve most of the meat before it spoils.

Buy a new one on Amazon & freeze those you can't fit to do in batches. Wish I had such easy access to dehydrators! I paid through the nose for an Excalibur where I am.

that sucks fix it fast everyone needs more jerkey... yummm

How did they dry meat before dehydrators came along? Do some research!

Very lame name, pork chop.

put it on a screen in the sun. or on low heat with the oven door open. both work.

Well, you can still smoke them nicely in the BBQ pit with some oak or Hickory wood chips.

That is why you check everything before you start. Ydi op

You can dehydrate meat in the oven... just put it to 175F. Problem solved.
