Today, I stopped by my local bar to maybe meet some new people. I sat in between two groups. Within a minute both groups got up and left. FML

OP Here ...well to a lot of you, Thanks for your sympathy! This was supposed to be an emphasis on how hard it is to talk to people in the real world! This actually happened and u sat at a spot that was empty, I didn't squeeze anywhere. it was likely coincidental but it did feel lonely when the half of the seating area became empty at once. gets lonely pretty quick.

You cant blame yourself for that one, it's most likely a coincidence. Find someone who seems to be there alone and strike up a conversation. Bar goers are usually more than friendly.

its okay OP, I will still love you in the same, unconditional way.. Just... don't be weird about it..

But the power you have to empty a room!

This made me think of that one line in the For the First Time song of The Script

I think you're so brave for just going out alone to meet new people. I wouldn't have the guts to do that.

You deserved it for being that creepy weird person that joins in on strangers' conversations.

i kbow how you feel. It sucks. Mainly i think for me its coincidental aswell.

A similar thing happened to me and my dad once. We were at a party with assigned seating. The other people assigned to our table walked up, took one look at us, and walked away. Even though they were strangers it still hurts to be treated that way.

I know that probably hurt but I can totally understand that reaction. You are a complete stranger and are kind of invading their space. I wouldn't be cool with it either if I was hanging out with my friends, talking about our lifes and personal stuff and a stranger suddenly comes to sit close to us.
