Today, I thought I'd finally make a step towards getting over my ex-fiancé by flirting with a cute waiter. I left him a note on the bill. He comes back, says "which one of you is [name]?" and leans down close to me to say, "Thanks for your note, but your card was declined." FML

He was nice about it though! Embarrassing, but at least he didn't shout it across the restaurant or anything.

why did you put [name] when your username is Mel?

42, the word ****** is fairly old and has a few definitions, most of which aren't at all offensive, and when used offensively, it isn't always referring to gays, just as the word ***** is often applied to a woman you don't like without necessarily implying they're easy. More to the point, don't be an overly PC cry baby. 49, Thank you on behalf of everyone for NOT posting your pic of you no doubt ugly mug as your avatar.

YDI. Honestly, is it that hard to keep an eye on your bank account and how much money you have? I hope you learned your lesson.

FYL for having a nice waiter? Please YDI for not paying attention to how much money you have. Learn to check how much you have before going out to do anything. I'd also say that YDI for not getting of your ex-fiance, but I don't know how long it's been so I can't judge.

49 - "Now you look like a cheap ass in front of your friends and they probably wont want to invite you out since you may screw things up on a bill. Always make sure you have money in your bank and money in your pockets at all time." Wow. Is that how your friends act? If so, get some new ones. I know mine aren't after my money. Maybe she just forgot to transfer some money over? And who said she had no cash? Her card was declined. She probably had other means of payment. And what if she had gotten laid off? What if she didn't have a steady source of income? What if she did but she was running low? There's so many things that we (including you) don't know about the situation, so before running your mouth like a sugar-hyped 14 year old , think.

so did u go on a date or what?

Well 2 people you can't date. Still 100m at least you still can.

#29 She said the waiter was cute, which means she thinks he was attractive. It doesn't necessary means she's attracted to him. It may sounds stupid, but they're 2 entirely different things. For example, she can also think that another woman is good-looking, but she doesn't have to be attracted to her. It's still YDI either way, because 1: She wastes her time flirting with random strangers for no reason, and 2: she doesn't check her credit card.
