Every time I read a story like this, I sympathise with OP at first (what your boss did was really mean and immature), but then think that if someone is so happy to see you go, you must have done something wrong, too. But since OP quit, he/she knew that it wasn't working out, so hopefully things will now get better for everyone...
Well, look at it this way: Not only will you not have to put up with this bullshit much longer, but you're leaving your job on good terms. :)
Good terms? Every one there hates her, maybe it was good for her to leave but she left on good terms with no one.
It was a joke. The boss is clearly happy to see OP go, so in a way OP is leaving on good terms, since the boss is not angry but delighted with OP's departure.
On your last day you should take a picture of him and write 'Biggest Asshole Ever' underneath it.
Post his picture up with "Biggest asshole ever" around the office.
You must have been a real joy to work with, but either way, that was HIGHLY unprofessional and immature of your boss.
You should report this person to HR. that's unprofessional. Try and get the bastard into as much trouble as possible before leaving. As long as you have found another job and don't need them as a reference.
Something tells me he can already forget about them giving a good reference.
59 - If OP really was such a problem that the boss felt justified in what he did and OP applied with competitors it would be an extremely intelligent move to give them a glowing recommendation. Pawn the problem off on the enemy!

That's pretty immature of your boss. If they really didn't like you, they easily could have fired you. Your boss sounds like a sore loser.
That's really mean and immature done by your ex-boss.
