Well, you have to consider, he may be a bit hurt that you are gonna be going away, especially after not even consulting him about whether you should take this potential job. It is your decision, but maybe you should've made that decision with people that are important to you. He may think that a long distance relationship won't work, as it so often doesn't.

it doesn't sound like she was expecting him to uproot and move with her- I also recently moved across the country for a job but my boyfriend and I are doing long distance for a little while until I find something closer to our agreed upon "settling down" area. It's possible OP was anticipating a temporary long distance situation. what we don't know, though, is if she told him that she was considering a job out of state.

What the heck else is he supposed to call her?? She "informed him" sounds like no prior discussion, she clearly doesnt take this relationship seriously or plan on continuing it.
