if you're over 18 he shouldn't be paying it anyway. which you are since you are able to enlist in the military. therefore this isn't a FML or a YDI ... just the way the world works.

With regard to your child support issue, the answer depends on the state in which you live (assuming that France was a mistake). each state has different guidelines for emancipation, but most will say that support ceases when a child reaches majority or when they become self-sufficient. Even if you're in Colorado, your father can likely argue that there has been a substantial change in circumstances and petition the court for a change. what a jerk....most dads r like that...all they care about is not paying for their children. trust me, my ex-owes me thousands of dollars......but I wld rather my daughter be happy than take his $$$.....long story.

No worries man. I told my dad that i was gonna join the Air Force after high skool and he said that he was glad i was finally going far away from him. He told me to keep him updated on when i was planning to visit so he can make sure that he wouldn't there.
