Today, I told my mother that, after years of cheating and abuse, I'm finally getting a divorce. Her reaction was deep concern that my husband might not want to "be friends" with the rest of the family any more. FML

It sounds like your mom cares more about your husband than she does about you. Talk to her. Sorry OP

Your mom needs to get her priorities in order.

That's awful. Still, I'm proud of you for getting out of the relationship. All the best to you.

I'm so sorry! That's terrible.

my mother was so upset with my divorce that she attempted to have cps remove my children on completely faulse accusations( they investigated and closed the case)... and she wont understand why I won't speak to her. Her reason- if I'm willing to allow my mariagr to such a great man end I must be mentally unstable, unable to make ration decisons and care for my kids. He is a good man.. but we were kids when we married and grew apart along with so many more reasons. So OP I completely understand the hurt this can cause I'm so sorry.

God, that's hard. Some parents react like that, it's wrong and hurtful but you can't fix other people's reactions. Do what's good for you.

"Well if you like him so much why don't YOU marry him?!" Hmmm, on second thought... not helping.

Depends on what is considered cheating and abuse
