FYL for having to deal with a hormonal wife for some months. I once was one the hormonal weepy wife, with a 9 pound 9 oz baby (who was is now 6'5" tall and 200 lbs. - thin and handsome, if it makes her feel any better). Good luck and patience to you OP.

As everyone already said, your daughter isn't fat. She's on the small side of average. However, if your wife is still upset about the comment, and wont listen to the '6 and a half pounds isn't fat' logic, remind her that peoples body shapes change as they get older, and that babies are supposed to be fat.

They need to be put in the same home as the elderly that budge in line because they think the world owes them something. Do unto others. My sisters both weighed 6.7lbs and I weighed 7.8lbs. I was a skinny baby, even now im 5'11" and 128lbs. People need to mind their manners, just because your baby isn't emaciated doesn't mean she's fat. What would they prefer? An FAS or crack baby?

Six and a half pounds is tiny! I was eight pounds exactly when I was born and I sure as hell wasn't chubby. It really doesn't matter what size you are when you're born - my friend weighed half of what I did (yes, only four pounds) when she was born and she's a dress size bigger than I am. Shame on your wife though. I can imagine it's pretty horrible when you've just had a baby and some wrinkly old hags are insulting towards it.
