(I want to call BS and say that a guy must have written this because....) Why were you heating it up on the stove? Hair hot oil treatments (in the tube) are generally heated up in a glass of hot water. I have never heard of anyone actually heating up oil in a saucepan to use on their hair. But hey whatever, you still deserved it.
What kind of idiot website are you looking at, that would recommend you put your (flammable) hair over a lit stove, let alone put hot cooking oil on it... hello, third degree burns? YDI for not using a store bought hot oil treatment & taking matters into your own, very stupid hands
op didn't say it was cooking oil. just oil. could've been olive, argon, ect.
Can't you afford to go to a proper spa?
I think you meant to do a hot oil treatment, not deep fry.
You're lucky that was all that happened. I've never heard of hot oil being put on hair, doesn't sound like it would be very good for it. FYI wax can leave horrible burns if doing at home heating in the microwave - better leave it to trained professionals!
hot oil treatments are perfectly normal and common op is just a fuckwad
Actually, my hair dresser flat out said that hot oil treatments have no benefit to your hair as it doesn't reach deep enough into your hair follicles to condition or whatever it's supposed to do. She said it's best to stick to trimming your hair every 6 weeks and deep conditioning.
You're supposed to warm the hot oil in a hot water bath, not over the stove top. YDI for being an idiot.
Your intelligence is overwhelming.
Spa day at home? This reminds me of the radio station that heard about a spa treatment involving butter on the eyes and decided to recreate it in their studio. It goes without saying that event ending badly. Main point is: leave the fancy treatments to the professionals. They're overpriced for a reason-you can't recreate them at home.
LOL you burned yourself.
You heat hot oil for your hair in the microwave, dumbass. For about twenty seconds. You only want it to be slightly warmer than room temperature. Any warmer than that and it causes more damage than it helps.

I'm pretty sure deep-frying your hair is NOT part of any spa treatment. You probably misunderstood what it was.
Lol, do you not know oil catches fire if you heat it on its own for too long? YDI =P
