Today, I tried the 'Casual Encounter' page on Craigslist. Three hours, a bunch of spam, and a 30-minute call to some company, speaking to some lady I could barely understand to recover the $40 somehow charged to my card. I think I might want to try other ways to meet people. FML

I feel like, if you went out and asked out, I dunno, a coworker or something, you would have better luck. Or cats, cats help.

Just go on tinder. You have less of a chance at getting murdered on there. possibly...

Sorry, OP but you deserve it. You should know better. The casual encounter section is for straight married men who want to trade blow jobs with other married straight men.

Yah that's what you get for going on Craig's list. I'm sorry bro.

Of all the options available to you, you picked the worst one... There's all sorts of legit sites for that purpose, not to mention the old standby of the local bar. Not to mention asking friends if they know anyone. Had to vote YDI because everyone (at least, I thought everyone knew this...) knows not to give out credit card information online to shady sources.

What the heck on craigslist required your credit card number? Seriously?

Why did you give your card details out when trying to meet someone? Craigslist is free right? I've never used it to know...

You completely deserve it for using criagslist for that kind of thing. There are way better sites out there.

I've met several people from Craigslist and have never been asked for or given out financial information. That said, Craigslist is the shady alley of meeting people. If you're going there, you best be looking over your shoulder at all times. YDI, big time.
