I've been up for 52 hours now. No real reason, I've been off work for about 40 of them with nothing to do. None of the prescription drugs help consistently.I end up taking that ZZZQuill or knockoff but it has to have the alcohol. One big shot and if I'm not tired 20 minutes later I take a half swig and 90% of the time I'm down. Wish all that prescription stuff worked it would be a lot cheaper for me.
I used to suffer from insomnia (sometimes I still do). For me, its caused by not being able to shut of my brain long enough to go to sleep. I tried sleeping pills, they didn't work for me either. I think the reason they didn't work at all, was because I was worried about whether the pills were working, and thinking about how I needed to sleep. You need to distract yourself long enough to forget that you've taken the pills. It's like the opposite of the placebo effect. If you think about it, it wont be as effective. You could try listening to slow music before bed or something. Hope this helps.
try heroin. it makes you pretty lethargic.
That's actually a really common reaction in some people to a certain family of sleeping pills. I don't remember the explanation from my doc but you need to tell yours as soon as you can. It is a specific binding to a molecular chain that's causing the problem so others might work.
You could try and take some simple steps: stop those pills until you see your doctor and try to deal with the anxiety in a natural way. Have a long, hot bath. Go out and walk in a green space long enough ( plants and trees have an incredible soothing effect on people due to some chemistry I don't quite understand but that has been reasearched and proven) . Have sex helps a lot to unwire, even with yourself ( okay people , I'm French, I am bound to suggest that ). Weed, why not. Lavender oil on the pillow. Try and read Fifty Shades before you go to sleep. I couldn't pass page 3 without yawning. Lots of other people will have creative ideas I am sure.If nothing works, leave your troubles behind and have a short trip anywhere, if possible. Allowing a distance between you and daily worries is a sure recipe. It puts things in a different perspective
After 3 sleepless nights, why were you still taking them?
