WOW, You have some serious water pressure to move a piece of ice fast enough to blow an elbow in the pipe.
possibly, my thought was a rusty patch that just couldn't take it anymore. particularly the threading.
might not be able to afford vacation after paying the plumber and repairing the water damage lol
Home Depot to the rescue.
The exact same thing happened to me a few days ago.
might still be time for a freak accident fire that caused the pipes to crack. make those greedy insurance assholes pick up the tab....
Umm.. You haven't taken a shower for 3 whole days ? Darling , get to your friends house or something.
Our pipes froze and right when they unfroze the pipes burst. The whole apartment complex was without water for three days.
This is an important lesson: When the temperature drops down low, have a small stream/dripping of water running through your faucets (from both the hold & cold). It will help relieve the pressure built up up from the freezing of your pipes (if that does happen). Relieving that pressure can help prevent your frozen pipes bursting; or in your case, the pressure that forced that piece of ice to break your pipe.
Your name is ice queen and I just thought of the movie frozen. But seriously that sucks.

Whenever I read that "haww", I get a very persistent image of a human with a donkey head laughing over a glass of champagne... But anyway, it totally does suck.
Damn, you were better off with the frozen pipe. Call one if those 24/7 plumbing places! Good luck OP!
