Today, I walked into my apartment and smelled something extremely repugnant. I asked my roommate what had happened and she said, "I didn't know how else to kill it!" She'd trapped a bat that was in our apartment, put it in the oven, and set it to 400 degrees. FML

"Humour" doesn't come in to this; this FML is not a joke, it's something that actually happened to a sentient and innocent being, and as decent people, the commenters are horrified that OP's roommate is such a monster.

That's horrible! OP, your roommate is a jackass. Why did she need to turn the oven on?! She could've left it off and NOT burned it to death, and called either animal control or a sanctuary to come get it. Or better yet she should've kept her cool and tried to coax the poor thing outside until she succeeded! It was probably more terrified than her, and I can't believe it seemed necessary to her to roast it alive. How utterly despicable. **** the BAT'S life, which was cruelly cut short by an idiot :T

Or is she a complete lunatic who doesn't think that if she can catch a bat, she can find a way to get him/her outside without hurting him/her. You might want to consider looking for a new place where you don't have to live with someone who is either completely stupid or completely insane.

1) Who on earth leaves the oven doors open. 2) Unlikely that that bat would fly in. 3) Why would you shut the door on it and bake it.

She didn't have to kill the bat when it was in the oven. She could've called animal control or even her roommate to get it out There was no reason why that animal had to die.

Not every bat has rabies genius. Dogs also carry rabies and have sharp teeth, maybe we should have them all destroyed, just in case.
