Today, I walked out of the operating room at the end of an emergency case. I spent ten minutes talking to a woman about her son before we realized I was talking to the wrong family. FML

#64, you're the grand prize winner! As a healthcare worker, we are all taught about the privacy act HIPPA. You can lose your license or face jail time. So, #37, there's your lawsuit.

So another overworked, underpaid, tired doctor makes a mistake when he's spent all his remaining energy on trying to keep someone alive? Poor fellow. Hopefully you can get a few hours sleep and make a nice apology before you move back into your work. I guess I'm just lucky, but I have never had a doctor that was in it purely for money. All my doctors have been wonderful guys, from the surgeon when I was 5 to the doctor that diagnosed my dad with pancreatic cancer. My primary care doc is amazing, even now that I'm uninsured, I'm still given great treatment. So I suppose I have a real bias against seeing doctors as money-grubbing pricks like a lot of people. Better luck next time, OP.
