Today, I walked out of the operating room at the end of an emergency case. I spent ten minutes talking to a woman about her son before we realized I was talking to the wrong family. FML

Hahaha, wow maybe you should pay a little bit more attention OP or Ask the family if it is their kid first! fyl

hahahaha XD its like 'oh shit! i'm sorry there seems to be a mixup. oh well if this isn't your son then...that means yours is the one we lost......oh...uhh......well-this is awkward.'

I hope you gave bad news to the wrong person so she will be pleasantly surprised, not the other way around.

im sorry but little timmy has a terminal illness, he'll probably die in 2 weeks... oh shit. wrong family. have a nice day guys! lmao.

thats why theres a patient privacy act...2 keep a patients info PRIVATE....it WAS a mistake that the doctor had the wrong patient/family member, so im not sure if a lawsuit would b the thing 2 do....if this were a real life fml, the doc may b suspended or something while they investigate...who knows...but sharing a patients info with someone other than their family IS illegal

better that it's the wrong family than the wrong patient

You are no longer qualified to be a healthcare provider.

"Alright ma'am, don't worry, we just need to remove his appendix" "But he came in for his broken arm!"

I really hope for everyone's sake that both patients are ok. FYL man.
