Maybe the tank or bowl should be placed somewhere the kid can't get it? I wouldn't trust a 3-year-old...

I don't see why playing with a pet is a bad thing unless she took the fish out the bowl don't be embarrassed your child loves animals

A fish was a great first pet for me and all my siblings. Apparently, with this kid (and maybe future ones just to be safe) you gotta tread with caution in relation to animals

It's kind of cute in a way. She wanted to play with him...I doubt she understood that she can't take him out of the water.
