I can't believe people are actually suggesting she should have said yes to appease the delusional male. Do not appease those. Tell them no when you want to say no. They are not entitled to a yes, not even a maybe, and you are not cheating them of a well earned prom date, no matter how they ask. Remember, you are not for sale in exchange for goods or services just because they want you. You are not a bargain.
