Today, I was at a second interview for a job that I really need as I got laid off last month. Midway through the interview, I went to cross my legs and realized I had 2 different shoes on. FML

You "really need" the job? You've only been laid off a month. Try six months. Or try never being able to get a job in the first place.

Maybe they satisfy a quota for hiring mentally disabled people. You might still have a shot. And btw, crossing your legs will not get you the job.
