Today, I was at a Starbucks drive-thru and was grabbing a hot coffee when I got rear ended and my car hit the vehicle in front of me which deployed my airbag. Hot coffee can really burn when it hits your face at a high rate of speed. FML

Ouch that really sucks. Make the driver pay for hospital fees.

Hot coffee burns regardless of its velocity.

i work at a drivethrough starbucks and we don't like when someone JUST orders a coffee. a) you hold up the line and b) we don't pour it until you get to the window anyways because you hold up the line. the drive through is good for when like.. youre drink is going to take a minute to drink anyways because then it'll be ready by the time you get to the window. gettting brewed coffee through the drivethrough is all bad. come inside next time OP

And this is why we always leave a gap between the car in front of us - even when we're at a stand still - a lesson learned, right children and fellow idiots?

Seriously. But not every state has Peet's, so I'm willing to forgive if he's not one of the lucky ones.

I could be wrong, but I've heard that your airbags don't deploy unless you're going more than 30MPH.

I think it's actually around 10 or 15 mph that you have to be going for the airbag to deploy. not sure cuz I don't even drive.

Actually, that might have been the airbag. They leave burns when they deploy, sometimes.

Your airbags don't deploy unless you're going a certain "rate of speed."

Does slow moving coffee not hurt as badly?
