Today, I was at a Starbucks drive-thru and was grabbing a hot coffee when I got rear ended and my car hit the vehicle in front of me which deployed my airbag. Hot coffee can really burn when it hits your face at a high rate of speed. FML

Ouch that really sucks. Make the driver pay for hospital fees.

Hot coffee burns regardless of its velocity.

i think all of you are putting to much into this. coffee was on the poor guys face! leave em' alone. doesnt matter how fast it was going or what brand of coffee it was. it still was ******* hot! so.. shut the **** up. FYL man.. that had to hurt.

YDI for being to lazy to go in and get your coffee. drive throughs are a joke and everything about starbucks is terrible. being on an electronic device in the car is illegal yet eating and drinking things, especally a hot drink is not?

It is times like this where I really miss living in Oxford, where people would sit down in a cafe and have coffee with you (or, better yet, a pub and have a beer with you). America is so uncivilized the way we drink fine beverages while driving. It ruins the car, distracts the driver, and misses some fine social opportunities.

Yeah, cause we ALL go to the starbucks drive thru EVERY TIME we want coffee here in America. Not :P It's convenient if you're on the way to work or class, but other than that I much prefer to walk into the lobby and relax there for a while with a book or a sketchpad.

I call fake. It's hard to believe that you got rear ended hard enough to make you hit the other car going fast enough to deploy the airbag.

I say YDI if this is real, anyone who drives thru Starbucks for coffee deserves this. I love how the line to the drive thru usually sticks out into the street in my city, blocking an entire lane of traffic half a block from a busy intersection.

What if he was on his way to work or in some sort of hurry? People who are saying he deserved this for using the drive thru and not going in seriously need to grow up. As do those blaming him for the brand of coffee. C'mon guys, really?

yes, and impressing YOU is what the rest of us exist to do.

I'm just saying people need to get the whole background story or at least think of different possibilites behind the situation before making ill-minded judgements. Though you are completely entitled to your opinion.

if you're in a hurry you don't stop and get coffee especially not at starbucks because the line is always super long just like 78 says
