Today, I was at a restaurant with my grandma. A young, ripped gentleman suddenly walked through the door and my grandma looked at him and shouted, "Look! Eye candy!" as loud as she could. He heard it and was extremely embarrassed. To make it worse, my grandma is a widow, so she might have actually meant it. FML

Yeah, I agree with a lot of the people above. This doesn't really sound mean-spirited...it just sounds like he's complimenting your coat. Think of it like this: maybe if you'd been wearing a less awesome coat, he would've said you were also beautiful. But, since the coat is more fleeting, mentioning your coat preempts telling you that you're pretty because you're probably still gonna be pretty next time he sees you, but you will probably not be wearing the same coat.
