Today, I was at the library doing research for my midterm. All of the computers were in use, so I decided to use my laptop instead. Ten minutes later, I was confronted and kicked out. My offense? Unauthorized use of the library's so-called "Free Public WiFi". FML

If you can afford a laptop you can afford an aircard, free wireless is for the people who live on the government teet. Libraries are for homeless people to shave and go bm.

Maybe they had the laptop for a year or two and then moved somewhere new? I know internet hookup fees where I live can be high. Then they have other bills that need to be paid before being able to save up for the internet bill.

Libraries are also for people who read more books then they can afford in a month. My laptop was a gift. After rent, food, and bills each month I do NOT have enough money left over to subscribe to an "aircard". Free wifi is a means to attract people to the service you provide, hence why so many coffee shops and fast food restaurants now provide it.

I was being sarcastic, several times people who work at libraries and such seem to forget that they are for everyone, not just the disadvantaged, I thought people could tell I was being a smartass when I quoted Peter Griffin.

Not ******* necessarily. I could afford a laptop for school because I had student loans and savings bonds for that purpose, but I'm still broke as **** and can't afford one of those things. Your ignorance pisses me off.

I was thinking the same. Most libraries that I know of, you must use their computers for the free wifi. How else will they gather all your personal information???
