Today, I was at the library doing research for my midterm. All of the computers were in use, so I decided to use my laptop instead. Ten minutes later, I was confronted and kicked out. My offense? Unauthorized use of the library's so-called "Free Public WiFi". FML

In some places where I'm from, "Free public wifi" is still free, public and wifi even if you have to ask first before you use it. Maybe that was the case at your library?

What's the point of having to ask though?

the sign that says “free public Wi-Fi" is filed in the irony section

You forgot to read the fine print which states "Will cost an extra $10,000 in tuition fees."

free, public wifi means it doesn't cost anything and anyone can use it, and i bet everyone who was using the computers was probably on facebook (thats how it is in my library, especially if you need to print something out!) :P

Have them for false advertising. Libraries provide a service not take not away how silly! Sorry OP

Wi-Fight back? You've lost all hope in life now. Time to go back to the library and take out a book?

Were you downloading nude pics?

"Also, we only allow pants being down in the restroom stalls."
