Today, I was at the park with my autistic son when I noticed a teenage girl imitating him by flapping her hands and walking on her toes. Fed up with children mocking my son, I went over and sternly lectured the girl's mother. Turns out, her daughter is autistic too and will be in my son's class. FML

Sooo thats good right? under the circumstances? They can be friends =]

I understand why you'd be mad.. A close family member of mine is autistic and it makes me very angry if people imitate him.

I wouldnt be to worried, with her having a child with autism she too is probably used to watching others mock her child and probably hurts her and she gets fed up with it too. If anything she probably can see where you did come from. Possibly you two will see each other more since your children go to school together and can relate and have someone who has a child who is going through the same thing to talk too.

CaptainCrunch, THANK YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH. That is everything I had to say to that ******* worthless cum stain #39 and so much more. You are a genius. My brother is autistic as well, and he is my world. He is my everything and I respect and love and wholeheartedly agree with every sentence you wrote. Thank you.

You assumed too much, let this be a lesson for you, YDI

Of course. Because if someone is mocking your son for having autism you take everything into account and don't do anything so that they can do it to more kids. Great idea.

#39, I totally agree. A while a go a friend and i were in a mall elevator with someone with autism. That person started smacking his hands on the glass right on top of my friend and she put on that scared smile that I knew really meant "omg this guy is gonna kill me." The mother however thought we were making fun of him. We weren't. I hate when people assume the world is out to get them because their child is mentally challenged. How would you react if someone started smacking the surface right next to your head?

**** off! You have no idea what it's like to care for someone with a disability! People make fun of them all the time. Get the **** over yourself!

hmm u kinda deserve this 1 just a lil but i still voted FYL i cant imagine how tough that must be 2 hav a special needs child. However, you should have handled by going over and POLITELY informing the child's mother about ur son. If she hadn't been autistic, she wouldnt rly hav a way of knowing about ur son.

Hm. I thought making fun of anyone was bad, regardless of whether they were mentally challenged or not. Silly me, how could I ever think something like that?

obviously you yourself have some kind of pent-up issues regarding your brothers death. Stop being a heart-less asshole and telling people to let their AUTISTIC son "fend for themselves." are you ******* mentally challenged yourself? Captain Crunch said it all. You're a ******* heartless idiot. Getting made fun of in organized sporting events is COMPLETELY different from being made fun of because you have mental problems. Go shove a lacrosse stick up your ass.

You are such an ass. My sister is autistic and you know what? she does realize when people are making fun of her. such as the thirteen year old girls that threw tennis balls at her at the pool one day. You have no right to be so judgemental. The OP was just trying to protect her child. I'm sorry about your brother but would he approve of you being such a dick? THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK

this isn't an fml. it's just a funny coincidence. you should be glad she wasn't mocking your child like you originally thought.

no one thinks your jokes are funny you rude, immature, ignorant bitch
