Today, I was at work at a local hot dog chain. A child (about 10, who I've seen there before) came in to order food for his Dad. He orders very excitedly, and I told him he'd be a great worker here when he gets older. He said "oh no, my Dad says I'm too smart to work in a place like this." FML

Well, if he was talking about it with his dad, that could mean that the kid had actually wanted to work there but his dad had other plans for him.

as long as you are only working there temporarily while in school, I would not worry about the comment. if the kid is really all that interested in serving people mystery flesh wrapped in pig intestines, tell him he should consider owning a hot dog business rather than merely working at one for minimum wage and making someone else rich. his dad might like the business ownership idea better :):)

well hes gotta be dumb 2 think tht only stupid ppl work at fast food places and stuff... and + most teenagers usually get low pay jobs at first and also just cuz his father says he smart doesnt mean he really is... even if he is smart tht doesnt guarantee he'll get a good job on his first try... seriously this kid must have been under the age of 10...

meh. your job probably pays more than mine and is probably more social than mine - i do a paper round and i get paid £5 (not sure what the US equivalent is) for the whole weekend. that's barely minimum wage here in England. so not only do you have a better job money wise, you're probably only in it to pay for university or college or something like that, so if the kid says something similar again say to him something like "Actually, i'm being very smart by working here, because i get money that i can use to pay for things i like :) "

well his dads a dick, its not a bad place to work if you are in high school or college, and if his family is so damn good why are they eating so much fast food?
