Today, I was at work when I found an iPhone on the floor. I decided not to turn it into the manager and keep it. Five minutes later, a customer asked if anyone had turned in her missing phone. I said no and began to walk away, when her friend called her phone. It rang. She recognized the ringtone. FML

Oh how delightfully delicious. An idiot thief and an iPhone all in one convenient FML. You see, the FML isn't that he got caught or that he was an idiot. He's saying FML to the fact that he tried to steal an iPod with a phone app.

It seems you need some schooling, good sir. First, referring to an iPhone as an iPod with a phone app is a way of making fun of the device. Second, yes, you are correct that FML is indeed a site, but were you aware that it was originally an acronym for "F*** My Life", which came about to express a distinct lack of fairness in said person's life. It is also commonly used to refer to any of the so-called FML moments posted on the site.

See, that's where you're wrong. You seem to have misunderstood what my comment meant. I said he tried to steal "an iPod with a phone app", not that he was posting from an iPod with the phone app. To be clear, if I refer to the FML app, I will say "the FML app". When I say "a phone app", I'm referring to an app intended to give a device phone functionality.
