Today, I was babysitting a 4-year-old, and we decided to play a game of hide and seek. Before he started to count, he looked me in the eyes and said that if I hid in his spot, he'd murder me with a knife when he grows up. I have to babysit this kid for the rest of the summer. FML

I would tell his parents. It may cost you the job, but it is obvious that this kid needs psychological help.

You can run op but you can't hide....in his spot ;)

You don't "have to" watch him, tell his parents and gtfo

Just don't hide in the kids spot, simple as that

I'd hide there anyway to see what he would do. He's 4, he won't remember saying that when he grows up.

You would be surprised at what a 4 year old can remember.

I babysat kids like that so you have my sympathies, OP. One would come in from playing with his friend and they'd describe for me, gleefully, how they were torturing and killing animals in the woods just behind the house. That kid is now in his 20s and serving time. For murder.

Ok THAT is behavior to be seriously concerned about. Kid saying he'll kill you for hiding in his spot? I'd say a talking to and a time out. Nothing to worry over.

Unfortunately, the kid didn't say a curse word he threatened to stab someone. I'd be concerned what he was watching at 4yrs old that he would know stuff like that. Also, kids that young that know enough to threaten someone like that may have issues. I knew a few kids like that and later on they started killing frogs on camping trips and at least 1 of the 2 guys did some time. I heard he ended up being kinda screwed up.
