Wow. Okay, I know which video you're talking about. Half-way through it, it made me so sick to my stomach I had to stop watching, and I could not sleep for days.... But it's still really crappy to just shit on someone's culture like that. You might say you're kidding, but you most definitely made a generalization. Things like that happen in America as well. There was a incident in Queens, NY where a woman was stabbed and raped by a man. She screamed for help and people living in the building next to the scene turned on their lights and looked out their windows. The man left the woman, then later came back, and did the same thing. It wasn't until about half an hour after the second time that someone so much as called the cops. Kitty Genovese, the victim, died that night. "Because that's people in China"? Really? Besides, the reason that people don't do anything in instances like this can be explained better by the "bystander effect", a term in psychology, which means that in the presence of other people, any individual is less likely to help. Think of how many times you might have witnessed something happening and thought, "Someone else probably already called someone." Even something as simple as a bush caught on fire next to the freeway. Look up the "facts." What happened to that little girl in China was horrid. I hope karma catches up good to both the individuals who harmed a child. It still makes me nauseous to think about. But you shouldn't shit on people's culture like that, dude. And I'm not going to say "people like you" because generalizing would make me a hypocrite in this case. I don't know you, and I won't make assumptions about you. But I will say that such statements really don't help anyone. Don't assume that a group of shitty people represents an entire nation.
A joke? I'm sorry. I'm just not sure how you can manage to find humor in an incident like the one you used as an example. But what the hell do I know. Maybe your joking abilities about such an event is admirable? I'm not one to normally be so opinionated, especially not on FMyLife. But, I don't think it's very nice to make generalizations about a culture and then try to say you were "joking" or that it's a "fact" that the people in those places do the terrible things you say. But I doubt this comment will make you change your mind, so maybe I'm the stupid one for wasting my energy saying all this....
"today, as I asked for help with my luggage on board the plane, I got hit with it instead". FML
At least you were trying to help! I hope she wasn't hurt bad then.

Shit happens, you had good intentions. I hope the old woman is ok though.
