Today, I was breast feeding my son. Out of nowhere, he bit my nipple hard, causing me to scream in pain. He giggled with my nipple still between his teeth. FML

OP here. I can't believe this got posted before I went to bed! Hahaha! For some reason this got edited out, but he ended up smacking me in the face after he bit me. He's 9 months old so he thinks it's hilarious obviously. And I'm not sure why it didn't show my name, I posted it while logged in. And as for the person who said time for bottle feeding, he won't take a bottle, which is fine with me! He's teething so he tends to bite more when he is. Glad to know my son has made people laugh :)

How old is your kid that you're breast feeding him while he has teeth?

OP thanks for sharing! It brought on a small, empathetic smile. I didn't breast feed my daughter due to many issues. But the pain from my attempts at getting her to latch at a new born was painful as it is let alone being bitten!! EEK my heart goes out to you!!

Glad to know my son made you smile! :) the first month of breast feeding was the absolute worse! My son is a bit tongue tied but not enough for surgery, so he latch was terrible for the first 3 months. But now he's a pro, now he just needs to get his biting under control! ;P

Yeah, a lot of people seem to know nothing or very little about babies. I'm no expert, and I'm not a mother either, but I did have a baby sister when I was eleven and I helped out a lot with her. And when my memory doesn't serve me all the details, there's google. But really, a lot of people are posting some dumb stuff, which is understandable, I mean, not everyone has kids or has had younger siblings.

You do know it's about that time to stop breastfeeding usually at 6 months because the first six months your breastfeeding milk has all the nuitrents a baby needs and basically after the six months your no longer producing the milk he needs any more. and plus he has teeth tell me that don't bother you.. Please don't tell me your going all the way to like 2 years that's just horrible. .

Your lack of knowledge on breast feeding is horrible. And yes I plan on letting him self wean. How does that affect you? And how is it horrible? If I stopped breast feeding my son at 6 months, he would of A) starved to death or B) I would be spending a shit ton of money on formula for NO reason when I could just breast feed. So I choose my boobs, thanks for your concern, though! And FYI if I'm not producing the milk he needs anymore, I wouldn't be producing milk at all. Yet I am. So please research before talking crap on breast feeding.

Hey, ignoramus, my daughter is almost 2. guess what, she still breastfeeds. WHO recommends PAST one year of age. Oh, and she has 12 teeth.

Will just maybe you should stop breast feeding when ha teeth. There are other way for him to get milk right.

He won't take a bottle, I've tried giving him a sippy cup with my milk in it and he spits it out. He refuses everything unless it's from my boob, which is fine because I'm a stay at home mom so I don't have to worry. Also I can't pump milk out unless he's nursing on the other boob I'm not pumping off of. It's weird but my mom was the same way with me.

I'm of the mind that when your children grow teeth, you should start weaning them off the breast/bottle. Just like sucking on a pacifier/their fingers will ruin their teeth, so will a bottle/nipple. But that's just my opinion.

Actually, studies have shown that breastfeeding helps with the proper development of the child's teeth and jaws.
