Today, I was driving at night and saw a small animal run across the road. I slammed on my brakes and got rear-ended. The animal turned out to be a plastic grocery bag. FML

If you come across an animal blocking your path on the road, then just run it over, that is what they tell you to do on your driving test. Unless it's a horse >.<

If you mistaken a bag for an animal, then you cannot have the attentiveness be a safe driver. No sympathy, and gtfo the road.

You could charge the person for rear-ending you; the safe distance between cars was established to prevent just such an accident. But you'd kind of be a jerk since it was just a bag.

Rather then braking on the road, people encourage you to drive ahead (ESPECIALLY if you know someone is behind you.) In Australia, we have miners at night running kangaroos over all the time. Because they can't brake and they can't swerve. They can't help it - but isn't it better to accidently kill an animal than cause someone who has a mind and family to die? or end up in hospital? He should sue you. Deserved!

The people behind you probably thought you were the dumbest person ever :P

That seems to happen a lot in Indiana.

if there is an animal running across the road when your driving its obviously to stupid to be alive so just run it over.

That's why I have a grill guard. I hit the gas

You know what pisses me off, is that wankers drive to close to other drivers. Sometimes when they tailgate i go slower and sometimes i spray my windows back and front hahaha

It still wasnt your fault. For every 10 mpg you're going, you're supposed to be a car distance away. The person behind you was driving unsafely. you should have kept your eyes on the road at all times but people need to drive safer
