Today, I was driving at night and saw a small animal run across the road. I slammed on my brakes and got rear-ended. The animal turned out to be a plastic grocery bag. FML

If you come across an animal blocking your path on the road, then just run it over, that is what they tell you to do on your driving test. Unless it's a horse >.<

If you mistaken a bag for an animal, then you cannot have the attentiveness be a safe driver. No sympathy, and gtfo the road.

It's the thought that counts; if it had been an animal, you would've kept it from dying. At least you're not a douche bag who doesn't stop for animals. Oh yeah, and I agree with whoever said they'd rather have a person die than an animal. :P

I'm sorry #1 and #2 - it wasn't actually this guy's fault. If the car behind you is SO close and unattentive to rear end someone when they stop (whether warranted or not) then it's the rear car's fault. Stop tailgaiting the lot'o'yer! It's bloody annoying and extremely dangerous (and wont get you there any faster - especially if you're behind me)

and btw #20 - #9 did say ALMOST. If someone's reversing into you, it's their fault. But in the usual circumstance when cars are going in the right direction it's the rear car's fault. Like that time a ball rolled onto the road in front of my car - I instinctively stopped... lucky I did, because there was a kid running right behind it. The car behind was right on my arse and rear ended me. Not only was the guy behind me at fault, but the kid's life was saved - all because I stopped for a ball. I say good work stopping for the bag, you never know what it is - if something's moving in front of your car, at least slow down if you think stopping's for *******

lol his fault for following so close his insurance should pay for it

PWNEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD XDDDDDDDDDD

hahahaha. that is HILARIOUS. I mean, slamming on brakes: the ONE thing they keep repeating in drivers ed.

If you accelerate an animal will change course. Unless it's a cow or dear, they're dumb.

never break for an animal. If you hit one it sucks, but it's better than getting hurt yourself or damaging the car. Most animals get out of the way, and those that don't are so big that speeding up is the safest thing to do anyways since it's the best chance you have of the thing not just toppling into your windshield and killing you.
