Today, I was driving down a completely empty street when a cop pulled me over for no reason at all. When he approached my window, I began to get defensive until he informed me I was driving the wrong way down a one way street. FML

I'd say "no reason at all" is not the right wording in this situation. There's no way there wasn't any other indication that you were driving where you shouldn't have been.

The majority of cops are there to help you. Co-operate with them if you get pulled over and nothing bad will happen.

I agree #13. And you should really pay more attention when you are driving OP. You're lucky you didn't get into an accident

Why was the cop driving in that direction?

@17 My guess is that the cop was driving down an intersecting street, saw Op, and then followed them to pull them over.

And you didn't see any "Do not enter" or "one way" signs anywhere? You either need to be more attentive while you're driving, OP, or the city/town you were in needs to invest in said signs.

"No reason at all", yet police officer provides a valid reason.

Ha! Wow! I thought this was an FML in my state. My school recently made our streets a one-way due to new construction zones at the school. After school with an empty parking lot, I was driving in the left lane when some idiot was going 30 mph and was about to cause a head-on collision. I had to swerve and actually hit the curb just to avoid him. YDI!!!

I don't know- eg. Seattle can be confusing with all the one way streets I can see how that would happen- but for how long?
