Today, I was eating a brownie my grandmother had made, only to discover an inch long piece of what resembled dead skin in the middle of it. This discovery was only made after taking a bite and wondering why the consistency was wrong. FML

i'm a baker and im gonna put your mind to rest. the skin like flake you found is called chalaza its the white cord you find in eggs, she just didnt remove it before she added them. it has happened to me before and its very awkward to bite into that, i feel your pain

It could have been some egg white that didn't get mixed in all the way, after it's baked it turns pale, rubbery and skin like.

I thought grandmas were supposed to make good food
