Today, I was excited to hear that I received three of my grad school recommendations in the mail from a very busy professor. They need to be submitted sealed, and of course, my nosy mom decided to open them. FML

Totally agree with #8! I would have made a HUGE scene! Considering those envelopes probably did have the college seal on it and not just any plain envelope you can go out and buy...

And causing a huge scene would do what? Make the envelopes reseal themselves? I mean yeah, explain it to her that she screwed up, but calling the cops on your own mother? Causing a scene? Grow up. Sh*t happens, you have to deal with it.

Sounds like something my mother would do. She threw a tantrum about not going to my college graduation and decided to open all my college mail to avoid related-problems in the future. FYL OP =C

Try this: post a letter to yourself, with the words 'nosy parker' on them. One of my family members tried it way back. It worked.
