Today, I was feeling proud of myself because I finally quit World Of Warcraft. I later found out about the gift my dad's family gave me. It was a 12-month subscription to World Of Warcraft. FML

if my understanding of the subscription system for WoW is right then in order to get a 12-month subscription he would have had to pay for 2 6-month consecutive subscriptions. to do that for YOUR specific account he would have had to be logged into YOUR account on the games online page which means he need YOUR password. doesnt that mean you gave it to him? so you would have known he was doing it. And if you deleted your account as a way to quit then F your dads life for wasting that much money.

He could have gotten 6 prepaid 2 month cards. At about $180, that's not unheard of for a gift, less than a nice iPod for example.

I never played Wow at all in my life... but anyways keep the gift, play for an extra year and then quit next year!

#48- Wow - have you ever even been addicted to a game? If so, you would know if you played for even just one month, you would get addicted again very quickly; it'll be even harder to quit. The only choice he has is to get addicted again or to completely throw away his gift.

Did you even read what I said? I did not say everyone who plays WoW is addicted and never gets out the house. In the OP's case, it sounds like he is obsessed with the game. I was not generalizing and was not talking about you at all.

I used to play for 9 hrs a day. World of Warcraft is equivilent to World of Warcrack. I finally stopped after the WotLK came out b/c it ruined it for me...

I used to play WoW myself and as far as I remember it has parental controls with a separate password that you can ask your dad to use to limit your play time. Just another option.
