intervention: WoW edition. lol! I only played it for like an hour and said " **** this!" but I know about getting addicted to MMORPG. I was a runescapey...yeah I got addicted horribly, until I got a job. :) it was a pain in the ass to quit, but I got over it.

I am a gamer. Have been for YEARS. I've played everything from D&D to Magic to participating in a Masquerade LARP back in the day. I am a die hard video game junkie...love RPGs, in particular. Cut my teeth on things like Castlevania, Zelda, Star Tropics, and my all time favorite console game...Final Fantasy. I also avidly play WoW. However, I am also married, have a full time job, completed a degree program (while playing), and am raising 2 kids. I simply do not comprehend people that "get addicted". I've seen people lose jobs because they kept calling off work for scheduled raids, et cetera, and I see those people as pathetic...just as I see drug addicts as pathetic. If more people would learn the concept of balance, learn to prioritize, and, simply put, learn how to be functioning members of society, we'd not have so many problems. I remember being stunned when I read about people who played EverQuest killing themselves (literally...committing suicide). I blame shitty parenting. Frankly, I blame shitty parenting for most of America's social woes. If parents stop neglecting their kids and actually talk to them about life, prioritizing, socializing, et cetera, we wouldn't have to deal with so many ignorant degenerates that can't function.
