A jobsworth is someone who always follows the rules because they are too scared to think for themselves or cause they enjoy exercising the tiny little bit of power they have to make other people miserable. When asked to help, it's more than their job's worth to help you. If your customers are starting to hate you, and no one else at your place of work, there is a good chance you are one. So without knowing some more info, this could easily be either a FML or a YDI.
For those who are saying that the OP may deserve it because customers were starting to hate the OP, I think you're misreading. '...customers were starting to hate me' appears in quotes as the bosses words. If I'm reading this correctly, then, the boss doesn't like that customers don't like the boss because of the policies he/she is making the OP follow.
