Today, I was flying back home from college with my Mom. At the airport, the ticket agent tells us she only has one ticket listed for Margaret. My mom and I have the same name. American Airlines thought a Margaret had bought two tickets by mistake, so they cancelled one of the transactions. FML

Today, I was forced to spend an extra $318 for another plane ticket to Dallas. The ticket wasn't for my daughter, my mom, or my sister, but for the quarter of my butt that apparently needs its own seat. FML

Today, I was flying home to Milwaukee after a weekend in South Carolina. When I got to the airport, my reservation didn't match up with any flights. Turns out Expedia booked me on a flight that doen't exist. I spent ten hours waiting in the airport for a two hour flight. FML

Today, my mother offered to pay for my tickets to go see my girlfriend who I haven't seen for 6 months. She was happy to pay for the £130 flight, but then refused half way through the purchase because she wasn't going to "let the buggers charge £13 extra" for using her credit card. FML

Today, I got an expensive return bus ticket to visit my family 200 miles away. I accidentally tore the ticket when taking it from the machine, but the driver said not to worry, as it would still be accepted on the way back. Guess who's still 200 miles from home. FML

Today, I booked a long distance flight across two continents, costing me over 600 bucks. I then got a confirmation email. For a different flight. I wrote to their customer service address, saying there has been an error, and to please either change or cancel the booking. I never got any reply. At all. FML

Today, I was on a flight home. I wasn't going to arrive until midnight, so I was offered an earlier flight that got back at ten. I got to baggage claims and it turned out they lost my bag. I sat there for 2 hours. The people on my original flight left for home before I did. FML

Today, I went with my girlfriend to the airport for some much needed vacation time. We arrived on time but were stopped at the gate when they told me I didn't have the right passport. The plane left without me. My girlfriend did too. FML

Why wouldn't they like call you or something and ask if it's a mistake instead of just cancelling your tickets? I know plenty of people that have the same names, especially if they're related.

While it's not as common for daughters to be named after their mothers (in relation to how many sons are named after their fathers), it does happen. I don't know what's up with everyone calling fake on this one. Airline problems are the worst, and the industry is going bankrupt because it's completely run by morons. *knocks on wood for her own flight next week* @ 24. Really? REALLY??

I'm not saying it doesn't suck that this happened or that this is fake. I have traveled by airline quite a bit, and such inconveniences occur from time to time. However, is this really a "FML" situation? More like FMMI (F*** My Minor Inconvenience). Of course, if your travel was time dependent as in an important doctor's appointment or an important morning meeting, then indeed this is truly FML. One thought though. I guess the airline couldn't be bothered to send an email stating that they canceled a transaction. I would think they would.

I like how it is completely unbelievable for a girl to have the same name as her mother, but when a guy has the same name as his father it is acceptable. But yeah, I'd definitely do the jr. sr. thing next time xD
