Today, I was flying back home from college with my Mom. At the airport, the ticket agent tells us she only has one ticket listed for Margaret. My mom and I have the same name. American Airlines thought a Margaret had bought two tickets by mistake, so they cancelled one of the transactions. FML

Why wouldn't they like call you or something and ask if it's a mistake instead of just cancelling your tickets? I know plenty of people that have the same names, especially if they're related.

you deserve it for being one of those douchebag people who name their children after themselves.

FYL because of your parents being too dumb to name u after ur mom and or not putting Jr. after the bl00dy name! >_

Use your full name or your middle initial. My mom and older sister have that issue.

54 (AND 55 apparently...) are you kidding me?! airlines constantly overbook assuming that people won't show up, and guess what?? depending on where you are flying to/from and the timing, everyone does! Every time that I've flown in the past year I've been delayed boarding so the airline can deal with the overbooking problem

gotta be fake, no one would be stupid enough to name their own child aftr themself without at least putting in a Jr

Gotta love incompetency, don't you? Speaking of incompetency, check out #91.

Any database program would have that kind of thing pop up as a warning for someone to contact the buyer and ask about, they wouldn't just automatically remove a ticket. That's my reasoning for thinking this isn't true.

YDI. Come up with an original name or don't have children. Only hillbillies and aristocrats give their kids the same name as their parents. It reflects poorly on the parents -- both on their parenting skills and on their intelligence overall.

Ugh. I feel you. I recently had some airport trouble myself. I've learned to ALWAYS call and confirm with the airline that the ticket is booked, 72 or 24 hours before the flight.
