Today, I was giving a lecture to my class I heard a phone go off. Aggravated and exhausted, I asked everyone to turn their phones off. Then the phone rang again. I lost my shit and spent the next half hour calling my students a bunch of "technology whores". Then I realized the phone was mine. FML

Today, while teaching my class, I hooked my laptop up to the projector and put on a documentary. I left it playing and went to the toilet. When I came back, the whole class was talking to my mother. She must've Skyped me while I was gone and someone answered the call. FML

Today, my phone rang during a meeting. I quickly silenced it, and put it in my pocket. A few minutes later, my boss’s phone rang. It was me, butt-dialing him while we were sitting in the same room. He answered and asked if I had something urgent to discuss. I did not. FML

Today, I needed to call my mom to get some info so I dialled the number on my work phone. Not 2 seconds after, my cellphone rang. I got super pissed off because I hate when people call me on my cell at work. It was me. I'd dialled my own number. FML

Today, as I was yelled at by a middle school teacher in front of 30 6th graders for breaking the rule of "no cell phones in school." Luckily, I escaped being sent to the office after explaining I'm a 21 year old college student doing student teaching observations, not a middle schooler. FML

i do understand that teachers get annoyed by phones going off but give us a break and we arent stupid enough to leave it where it is going to ring and interrupt again! and if your phone is going off then why dont you give your students a ******* break cuz now you see it happens to everyone at some point

I agree with #29. The teacher overreacted, but it's effing ANNOYING when you're in class and there are idiots text-messaging and having their phones go off constantly. I get that people forget to turn them off sometimes, but to leave them on constantly is just BS. You're not the only ones in the class and the rest of the class didn't pay to listen to your ringtones/vibrations (yes, those are loud too) or have class interrupted because you got an urgent call from one of your friends. Nevertheless, yelling and screaming over it is a bit irrational-- if somewhat understandable (I know it sucks being a student around people who don't have enough decency to turn their phones off)-- and you did deserve it.
