Today, I was going to my first job interview since I was laid off. About 10 yards from the door, I felt a sharp pain in my side and something in my pocket. It turned out to be a knife in my side, and a mugger robbing me because I looked rich. I haven't had any money in months, and missed the interview. FML

Can't you just explain what happened and arrange another interview?

Don't worry. That mugger is going to die of a heroine addiction in 5 years and Satan will have his way with him/her.

when u get a job buy a gun and get a concealed weapons permit. if u can't have one in your area, move!

zebra - to whom is your comment directed? Oh please, let it be me! I'd LOVE to get into an argument with you, especially after your seeing your comment so chock-full of surprises!

somehow I feel like this is a fake FML...

1 take an unarmed self defense course. 2. get a permit, buy a gun, and learn how to use it, then carry it with you. 3. failing the above, don't carry all your ******* money with you all the time.

Who says they were carrying all their money with them? Do you think the mugger has x-ray vision to see into the person's wallet to see if he has $1 or $1,000? I mean, honestly, in what world would your "suggestion"number 3 make sense as a way to prevent this from happening??

The correct thing to do in this situation is go tell the receptionist that you're there for the interview, then calmly explain that you left your cell phone at home and politely ask her/him to call the police and report that you were mugged at knife point and would like to file a report AFTER the interview. That would show your commitment to work, employers love that stuff

if that's true I'm sure you can get it rescheduled

this is why I have my conceal and carry permit.
