Today, I was having dinner with my boyfriend. We'd just got our food when my dad walks in, comes up to our table and says, "I didn't say you could leave, you're too young to be dating him", then drags me out of the restaurant. We are both 15, and it was my first date. FML

Make up your mind - was he your boyfriend or was it your first date?

Ahhh, young love and first dates.

Tell that to the girls in grade 5 who already have boyfriends!

But that isn't really the same as a teen having a dinner alone...a parent has to take a 5th grader and his/her date to Chucky Cheese...its more like a bf or gf on paper...not meaning anything

I wasn't allowed to to go on dates until I was 16. Your parents have the right to say when you can start going on dates. This isn't an FML, this is a "pitty me, my parents are real parents" kind of thing.

At 15, you are too young to go on dates. good for your father for being a parent.

Not to be a grammar nazi or anything, but the verb tense choose and separation of sentences in this FML is atrocious.

It is for reasons, just like this one, that I am gonna keep my daughter locked up in the basement until she is 30 years old (no, not really more like 21)...I agree with your dad...next time ask first, then you might have actually enjoyed your meal!

Your dad is awesome...never forget that...you are his baby girl, he should look out for you! Dads believe it or not use to be boys! We know how they think and what they are after! Kudos to dad!

LOL i know you're mostly kidding, but if you did keep her locked up in the basement, she would be EXTREMELY maladjusted to society. she would go crazy, and by crazy, i mean she would either get taken major advantage of, or she would start doing all the things she never got to do in extremes. sex, alcohol, drugs, everything. kids need to make mistakes to learn from them.

I think its obvious I was kidding about locking her up in the basement, however if she can't drive she can't date (at least without my wife or I being present) and even then I would have to meet and approve of the guy... no I haven't forgot what its like to be a teen and that is why I posted that comment

If you think not being able to drive means not being able to date, you are very mistaken. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, there will be places within walking distance, and even if she can't drive, she will have friends who can.

lol...I do live in the middle of no where...lol...and for a reason
